Degree requirements:

You must meet the established requirements for the National Chung Cheng University Department Institute of Criminology.

A total of 36 credits must be completed, of which 18 credits are from required courses. A research thesis is required.

Requirements for the Ph. D Degree:

  1. Successful completion of at least 18 reguired courses and 18 elective courses.
  2. Successful completion of the course “Academic Research Ethics” at least 6 hours and obtain the Course Completion Certificate of Academic Research Ethics Education.
  3. Creditable passage of the Ph.D. qualifying examination.
  4. Creditable passage of the dissertation proposal examination.
  5. Publication of at least two papers must be published in TSSCI, SSCI or other academic journals related to criminology with screening system.
  6. Attend international conference and release paper once.
  7. Creditable passage of the dissertation oral defense.
  8. The application of dissertation oral defense must be approved by the advisor and the Academic Committee. Please note that the period from the dissertation proposal examination to the degree oral defense must be at least four months.
